Fold Up Treadmill

A fold up treadmill is a great space saver for home use, with this running machine form easily folding into smaller sizes when not being used.

A fold up treadmill is a fantastic accessory to ensure you get the workout you want, without having to sacrifice too much space in your home.  These are special pieces of exercise equipment that feature a folding motion so that you can fold the running deck unto itself so that it occupies a minimal amount of space.  Also there are some fold up treadmill models that even feature wheels on the bottom, so that once folded they can be easily rolled into any storage space.  This is extremely useful so that you can roll your treadmill into any room, get a complete workout, then simply roll it back into storage.

But as with any other type, a fold up treadmill needs to be carefully considered before you make any purchases.  Not all treadmills are equal, and finding the right type can be difficult.  You’ll have to weigh some options, and one of the most important factors will be your available budget.  A top fold up treadmill can cost into the thousands of dollars, while you can also find options for much less than that.  If you have the means, don’t be afraid to spend the money, because you’ll be buying a higher quality product.  If you’re on a budget, don’t buy a cheap new treadmill, but look for refurbished or used high quality equipment instead.

Something to consider from any fold up treadmill will be the type of screen readout that a particular model features.  You can find complicated LCD screens that feature full support for arranging workouts, charting fitness progress, tracking heart rate, and fat burn.  Or you can find a very basic model that only features the distance you’ve run, your speed, and the time you’ve spent on the treadmill.  Cutting the features is a great way to cut the cost.  LCD screens may give you helpful information, but they’re really just a way to drive up the overall price you’ll have to pay.  In most cases they don’t give you any weight loss advantage over a standard screen.

Another thing to think about is the size of the running deck, and how small a size your fold up treadmill actually folds into.  You want a deck that’s long enough for you to fully run on, however larger decks can be more expensive.  Plus a larger deck will not be as easy to store, because the will fold into a much taller height, making it difficult to clear some door openings if you’ll be rolling the treadmill into multiple rooms.  Also consider weight limitations, as the standard model can hold 250lbs, but there are also options for 300lbs, so you’ll want to find one that fits in with your body type.

Buying a new fold up treadmill, you’ll want to go to a sporting goods store.  They will have the best selection of top models from great brands like Landice, NordicTrack and New Balance.  When you’re looking to save money, you should consult a local gym.  Usually at least once a year a gym will sell their old stock of some equipment, to upgrade to newer models.  This can be a great way to buy great high quality fold up treadmills, for a fraction of the price.
